Domains
A free .co.za domain, or keep the one you have
Every plan includes a .co.za registered in your name, with its registration and yearly renewals paid by us for as long as you are a client, and if you already have a domain you can keep it where it is or transfer it to us.
Three ways to connect a domain
- Register a new domainCheck which names are free while you sign up. A .co.za is free for as long as you are a client, renewals included. Other endings, such as .com, .africa or .org.za, are renewed yearly at a price we confirm with you first. We register it in your business's name after your first payment.
- Keep the domain you haveIt stays registered where it is, and you renew it there as you do now. We copy its existing settings across first, then you, or whoever looks after it, change its nameservers once. We send you the two new ones.
- Transfer it to usWe start the transfer after your first payment, and the domain stays registered in your name. Your current provider may ask you to approve it or give you a transfer code. A .co.za then renews free for as long as you are a client.
We look it up before you decide
When you type your domain into the sign-up, we check the public records and show you where it is registered and where its email is set up today. If someone else looks after it, such as your web designer or IT company, you can give us their details and we work with them.
Your email keeps working through the switch
Before your domain points at the new website, we copy its existing settings to our nameservers, including the records your email depends on, and keep them in step until the switch. Your website usually goes live on your domain within an hour of the nameserver change. Visitors who type www in front of your address are sent to the main address.
If you leave
- Your domain is registered in your name and stays yours.
- A .co.za included in your plan is renewed at no cost only while your subscription is active. We remind you before its next renewal date and move it to the registrar you choose, and from then on you pay that registrar.
- A domain you kept with your own provider stays with them, and we hand over its settings so you can point it wherever you choose.

Questions about domains
Is the .co.za really free?
Yes, for as long as your subscription is active. We pay its registration and every yearly renewal, whether we registered it new or you transferred it to us.
Who owns the domain?
You do. It is registered in your name, and it stays yours if you cancel.
Can I keep my domain with my current provider?
Yes. It stays registered there and you renew it there. You change its nameservers once so it points at your new website, after we have copied its existing settings across.
What about .com or other endings?
We can register or connect them too. Endings other than .co.za are renewed yearly at a price we confirm with you before we register or move them.
