Websites for your trade

Websites for builders and paving contractors

We build websites for South African builders and paving contractors that let your finished work do the talking, explain how you measure, quote and run a site, and show your NHBRC registration or CIDB grading only when you hold it.

How people choose a builder

Building work is a big spend, and most people have heard about a contractor who took a deposit and disappeared. So they take their time. They look at photos of driveways and walls you have finished, check whether you are registered, compare two or three quotes and ask friends who they used.

Your site is built for that slower decision. The gallery shows your own jobs, each service page explains how you work, and your registrations sit where a careful customer looks for them.

Cape Paving & Building is a fictional business we made to show the builder and paving pack on the Ember template. Its name, registration, photos and reviews are example content.

Pages for paving, walls, extensions and more

We start from the work South African builders and paving contractors are asked for most, and keep only what you do:

  • Paving
  • Boundary walls and retaining walls
  • Extensions and additions
  • Renovations
  • New builds
  • Plastering and brickwork
  • Concrete slabs and foundations
  • Carports, garages and outbuildings

Paving gets a page of its own, as does each other service you offer, so someone looking for paving in your town can land on your paving page rather than a general one.

Registrations and guarantees, sourced

Your site can show each of these, once you have sent us the details:

  • NHBRC registered home builder
  • CIDB graded contractor
  • Public liability and contractors all-risk insured
  • Plans and council approval handled
  • Workmanship guarantee
  • Years in business

By law a home builder must be registered with the NHBRC to build a new home, so customers planning one look for the number. We show yours only once you have sent it, a CIDB grade only if you hold one, and a workmanship guarantee only with the terms you actually offer. If you work with a draughtsperson and handle council submissions, your site can say so; if not, it does not.

Plain words about money and paperwork

Your site talks about building the way careful customers want to hear it: measured quotes, prices per square metre, materials and labour separated, firm start dates, a tidy site and rubble removed. Extensions and new builds always mention approved plans, and we never suggest building without them. You will not find "turnkey", "dream home" or "licensed builder" on it; in South Africa the words are NHBRC-registered and CIDB-graded.

Enquiries that tell you where the project stands

Your enquiry form asks when the customer wants to start and whether there are plans, so you know at a glance how ready the job is:

When would you like to start?

  • As soon as possible
  • Within a month
  • In the next few months
  • Just planning and budgeting

Do you have plans?

  • Yes, approved plans
  • Yes, but not approved yet
  • No plans yet
  • Not needed for this job

If your business uses WhatsApp, customers can also send photos and rough measurements, which speeds up a site visit and a quote.

Your photos, described for Google

Send photos of finished jobs: a driveway from the street, a wall from end to end, an extension from outside and in. We resize them so they load quickly on a phone, and describe each one for Google from its file name, so a photo named after a grey paver driveway is described as exactly that.

Questions about a website for builders and paving contractors

Can my site show my NHBRC number?

Yes, once you send it. It sits in the trust strip with any CIDB grade you hold. We never show a registration we have not seen.

Can I show photos of my work?

Yes. Send photos of finished jobs and we use them in your gallery and on the matching service pages, resized to load fast on a phone.

Will the site show my prices?

Only prices you give us. Many builders quote per square metre or itemise each quote, and your site can explain how you price instead of listing figures.

Can customers send me plans or measurements?

In the enquiry form they say when they want to start and whether they have plans. If your business uses WhatsApp, they can send photos, measurements or plans there too.
